OOOF.

It’s how I feel after a week in Melbourne last week.

As a panelist at Global Citizen Now alongside Dr Alvaro Lario (President of the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development) and Glenn Denning (Columbia University, New York), I felt like a little fish in a very big ocean.

As conversations flowed, I realised large organisations face the same interpersonal struggles,

internal disruptions and financial scarcity we do at grassroots level.

Smallholder farmers really are the linchpins of community survival.

We buy locally.

We live locally.

We feed locally.

And when things fall apart, we’re able to support those closest to us.

It’s why I feel so strongly about us collaborating with our neighbours.

Why I really hope Australia will rejoin IFAD.

Australian’s are some of the best farmers in the world.

Through innovation and research, we farm some of the toughest land there is.

We have so much to share.

But we also have a lot to learn. That’s what collaboration is.

We can speak but we can also listen.

If you’re interested in regenerative agriculture and small holding, might I suggest you read my book?

[Spoiler alert: It’s not just for kids…]

You can buy it here on Amazon and if you’d like a signed copy, you can buy it here.

And as a special offer to my paid subscribers, I’m offering a 50% discount which will send a code for later today as a massive thank you for supporting my work.

Intentional Conversations

Yesterday I hosted a lunch of local women where we took a tiny tour of my tiny garden and then dined on produce from my garden and tiny paddock.

We all came from different angles and at times the discussion was spirited.

Sometimes it’s hard to come together and be vulnerable, but it’s a sure fire way to encourage growth.

When we listen with intention and without judgement it gives us the space to see how we might make incremental changes to our own.

If you’re making tiny changes in your environment, I see you and I’m grateful.

With love and gratitude,

Kylie x
